With a major purchase like our home addition, we needed someone to guide us through the process. Foremost in all our needs, was someone with the experience to maximize our investment. They would have to be willing to go the extra mile for us. Their communication skill had to not only inform of us what would be needed but also educate us about construction. All those qualities would allow them to understand exactly what we wanted and be bold with money saving ideas.
When I interviewed Jason Cloninger from Dixon Construction, I had no idea he had already built 4 of the homes in my neighborhood. He was happy to give us a tour of the latest home that was still for sale during that interview. His craftsmanship was definitely what we were looking for. Our initial talk lasted more than two hours and he covered everything that would go into our addition. His thoroughness spoke volumes about his experience. In that short time, he was able to flesh out our ideas into a real world project.
We wanted to "get our feet wet" and design the addition ourselves. Over the next 2 to 3 weeks, we bounced one design idea after another off Jason. At this point we'd not formally contracted him but he patiently guided us through the process none the less. His input was invaluable and his extra effort left no doubt that we would hire him.
From working with Jason to get to the final design, we realized that we didn't speak "construction." I'm happy to say that this potential barrier was easily overcome. Jason has the skill to relay complex ideas and procedures in a way that we can understand. Not only can he communicate well but he kept us informed of each and every step once the building started. Because of his communication, we knew exactly what to expect throughout the entire project.
It would have been nice if we would have had an unlimited budget for this project. We didn't so we needed the biggest bang for our buck. Jason took all our needs, wants, and "nice to haves" and thought of ways to give them to us. His years of experience, dedication to his craft, and ability to share our vision added a huge value to our home. I believe he did everything in his power to make our investment count.
We really appreciate all the hard work of Jason Cloninger and Dixon Construction and are very happy with the final result.
Sincerely Mark and Dody Boggs
